Feeling Groovy
This Tennessee cottage combines living space and free-spirited guest quarters under one roof.

A try-level glass and metal coffee table provides lots of storage but is visually invisible. Blue and green accessories set the tone for the bedroom. The ceramic chieftain head was just too good to pass up. No two pillows match, yet the overall living room has has a fine gypsy vibe. Homeowners Casey and Savannah, best friends and bloggers, with their pup Hazel. On the second floor landing, an extra sleeping area was created by adding a wall. Geometric shapes unite a gallery wall of favorite items. Hung from the ceiling, white mesh fabric and vintage fringed shawls create a canopy in the guest bedroom. Chairs reupholstered with a banana leaf fabric keep company to a refinished thrift store table. A portrait of singer Stevie Nicks breaks up the graphic wallpaper. A tiered hanging vegetable basket is repurposed as a plant holder.
A mandala tapestry and star light have a bohemian vibe. The remodeled kitchen now offers a breakfast nook. A large-scale leafy duvet set and a low rattan table bring a a tropical vibe to the bedroom.

Artist in Residence
Noted tatie designer Jennifer Paganelli turns the rooms of her Connecticut farmhouse into sweet, sensational eye candy!

Playful accents join fabrics in pumped up pastels. Sunny yellow walls wrap it all up. Textile designer Jennifer Paganelli and her best friend. To top off a curvy French headboard, Jennifer created a garden inspired canopy by hanging a double-sided fabric panel over a ceiling mounted, 18-inch pole. Five years after they moved in, Jennifer and Peter renovated to open up the cramped kitchen. Jennifer and her daughter Katie. White walls and trim, along with white lacquered vintage furniture, set the stage for fabrics with classic motifs and saturated color. The guest bedroom is also a room for experimenting with fabric combinations and sometimes for photographing Jennifer’s books and projects. Patterns and colors unite harmoniously. Jennifer serves up less eye-popping pattern in the dining room so that her favorite collection— watery blue glassware— can steal the scene. Jennifer's own fabric decorate even space of her home. Pretty details, like the lampshade and vase are always part of Jennifer's decorating touches. In vases and on textiles, flowers grace Jennifer's rooms. Flowers from Jennifer's fabrics rest in a vintage silver bowl.

Good Vibrations
Eclectic finds and a flair for the exotic give a Gulf Coast cottage its well-travelled allure.

A vintage chair makes a stylish spot for towels and a natural sponge Fresh flowers and fruit are staples of Nina’s lifestyle. A wall of glass blocks between the vintage tub and the shower provides privacy. Vintage silverware and an etched-glass carafe are fitting for the stylish yet simple table setting. The well-used countertop indicates a love of cooking. A cut-glass aqua lantern adds a touch of intrigue and complements the color scheme. The weathered dining room table is given a face-lift with an embroidered sari laid atop a white cotton sheet. A silver bowl reflects the intricate embroideries of a sari layered over the tablecloth. A streamlined bench offers instant and practical storage for a small space. Nina’s knack for mixing patterns and textures is evident on the open shelves. The floor is painted a cerulean blue to further enhance the kitchen’s friendly laid-back style. Nature comes in via giant leaves gathered from the garden.

Patterns of Behaviour
Its' all in a day's work for a decorative artist who fills her home with colorful stencil projects and global goods.

A visit to the palace of Versailles inspired this work of art glass. Shades of blues and greens enliven the living room. An oversize tassel hangs over a vintage Kantha throw. The side table is currently white but is always changing based on Debbie's artistic inspiration. Stenciled salvage planks are fashioned into an exotic headboard. Stenciled work highlights vintage chandelier. A beaded horse keeps watch over a handmade platter and glass floats. Teal velvet adds panache to a vintage wicker armchair. The silver sequin basket was found on a trip to Marrakech. Gold paint unifies a flea market frame and a new letter H one a reclaimed mantel. Salvaged columns ad visual interest and height. A chalkboard keeps track of artistic projects. A playful mix of textiles in a limited but effective color way of blues and greens. Metallic finishes transform an old dresser into a unique vanity. Gold is the common thread in this bedroom corner.
