Mediterranean Rendition
Textural finishes, vibrant colours and distinctive fabrics bring the spirit of Provence to a Florida home.

Chunky factory thread spools used as knobs distinguish a refinished chest of drawers. A vintage Jim Beam bottle with a man on a horse on the label sits on the bar alongside a painting of a farmhouse in the South of France.  In the living room, a space is dedicated to a  A carved limestone fireplace, a crystal chandelier, and two settees piled with silk pillows create a dramatic first impression. A baptismal fount from a European chapel is put to service in the guest bathroom. Italian and French jugs and pots infuse the kitchen with Mediterranean vibe. An old tree branch is fitted with a corkscrew. A reproduction monastery table is topped with a repurposed door. A rustic Spanish chandelier illuminates a kitchen designed for cooking ease. The color of the bed linens are reflected around the room in coppery hexagon Saltillo floor tiles, paintings, and other decorative accents Sunflowers bring home the Provence countryside. Hand painted dishes are used daily \. A tangle of grapevine clippings gathered in a braided basket create an organic centerpiece.

La Dolce Vita
A chef falls for the rustic elegance and old-world heart of a historic Florida home and fills it with the welcoming comfort of his native Italy.

Silky fabrics in coordinating colors unite pillows of disparate shapes and patterns. With its warm tones, plaster walls, stones, bricks and tiles, the kitchen is a study in Tuscan style. Golden walls and an arched opening elegantly frame the entrance to the living room. A bouquet of sunflowers brings home the sun-drenched Italian countryside. Handcrafted Italian pitchers and plates share the limelight with ruby red glasses.  A painting of coral hibiscus in a gilded frame reflects the local flora while echoing the room's dramatic color. Adding to the kitchen’s rusticity, a hood encased in tiles and bricks tops the professional-grade stove and adds noteworthy character. A pair of gilded chairs upholstered in luxurious vintage silk and honey-toned drapes foster a sense of opulence. Flanked by jeweled-color votives, a one-of-a kind antique Italian brass clock presides over the carved stone mantel. From cookbooks to homemade treats, chef Maurizio is devoted to authenticity.

New England Spirit
Nancy and Rick Chace took a few years to get to know the Victorian era they bought in the historic district of Bristol, Rhode Island 'just a stone's throw from the harbour'.

 A new mudroom at the back of the house serves as a family entrance. In the kitchen, an alcove offers just enough space for casual family meals. A collection of blue bowls, pitchers and jars. The renovated bathroom features all modern conveniences. Rescued from an 1890s tool factory, this multi- drawer piece offers much needed storage. A blue 1940s vase and silverware are family heirlooms. A Gothic mirror and fireplace surround. The new staircase post was carved with an Eastlake flower. Chalk paint unifies and refreshes the dining table and 1960s chairs. he master bedroom continues the theme of mixing old and new and the color palette. Colorful accessories make meals feel like a picnic. Glass floats and a starfish honor the coastal location.  White shaker cabinets and granite countertops keep the kitchen look simple.

French Spirit in California
A faithful restoration brings authentic charm, a little drama and big comfort to a California farmhouse.

A pine cabinet with carved front is one of Sarah's favourite pieces.
A stately stairway 
leads to the second floor personal spaces. A hutch holds items that reflect the couple’s affinity for nature and preference for earthy textures. Streamlined and durable wood benches flank a rustic table with a zinc top that can handle spills with ease. Sarah is a master at combining traditional symmetry with a freer rustic style. The antique cabinet holds an assortment of wicker-wrapped jugs, olive oil jars and vintage dishes.
A clock keeps watch over a European white mud beeskep and a colorful taxidermy Sarah creates collection by grouping pieces similar in style, shape, and color. Custom-made bookcases stand on each side of the a 19th century limestone fireplace surround. The aged patina of the master bedroom's walls was created by a treatment that involves mixing paint with water and spraying it on wet plaster. Chairs of various styles and finishes flank a 19th century farm table.  A rare 18th century statue of the angel Gabriel takes place of pride on the sideboard. Sarah designed the range hood to go with the classic 1930s Wedgwood stove that came with the house

Waterside Living
Refreshed with colours borrowed for sky, surf and sand, as dated waterfront properties is bought back to life.

The family calls this space A starfish print and shell-studded wall sconces woes the near-by beachside location. Traditional  style goes bold in the kitchen where white crown and box moldings are offset by lively leaf-green walls. Wherever you look, there is always an element that really waterside living. Here, the surfboard is the star. The Small's daughter's room wears happy color and fun accents. The cabinet's center section has roll-back doors to hide the TV when not in use. Near the twins bedrooms, a small space serves as a study. The hallway welcomes with colors and materials that reflect the location. Dutchy, the family Cavalier King Charles spaniel, greets guests at the front of gallery that wraps around the house. Tiles and green hues tie together the kitchen and breakfast area. Blue and white fabrics give the boy's room a nautical mood. Tall wooden shutters are used on lily of doors between the living and dining room. Even the changing room to the swimming pool is lavished with color

A Place in the Country
A dramatic mix of remnants from the past and modern pieces brings a renewed beauty and energy to a vintage Virginia farmhouse.

The long hallway is simply furnished with a slender marble console and a pair of French chairs to allow easy passage to the back of the home. An imposing mirror amplifies the light and the space. Function meets imagination in an easy to clean zinc platter turned blackboard for grocery lists, messages or menus. An ample antique tub, a linen-clad bench and an oversize mirror set the bathroom elegant mood. Painting the inside of the built-in niche a charcoal gray puts the focus on an ever-changing display of favorite objects Weathered pewter dishes add a timeless vibe. Neatly stacked and contained bath essentials are 
kept handy in an open metal shelf. Wooden pegs attached to a board of similar finish make a classy and efficient towel rack. Modern chairs dressed in slipcovers cozy up to the spacious table custom-made from recycled lumber.The drum shade contributes to the sleek and simple look.  and sporting a contemporary design. Daughters Sophie and Gweneal share playtime with their pets. A graphic farm sign makes a strategic focal point. Vintage chairs are elegantly clad in prized French fabric. A tall, slender cupboard offers an elegant storage solutions for delicate serving wares. A classic dresser paired with vintage mirror evokes a Scandinavian influence. A cherub statue, fabric roses and a glittering head form set a romantic vignette on an old metal cabinet in the bedroom.
