Spencer Faux

A builder by trade, Spencer Faux is also an inspired renovator. His Edwardian terraced house near Hampton Court had a conventional layout until he decided to gut the interior, taking down all the internal walls in order to reconfigure the rooms.

Synopsis
He added a glazed extension to the rear and painted every room in an uncompromising white. He is a self-confessed perfectionist who says he finds white rooms help him unwind after work. “Anyway white walls change colour according to the way the light falls,” he says.
