Roni and her husband John decided to up sticks and move from London and look for a property in the Kent countryside. Roni had set her heart on a Georgian house but found that most of the properties they looked at were Tudor with a Georgian façade tacked on. ‘Nothing ticked all our boxes until we found this cottage and we fell in love with it instantly’ Christmas at the cottage is quite traditional and Roni likes to bring in lots of foliage which she makes into swags to hang over the fireplace and above the AGA in the kitchen. She puts up lots of fairy lights around the house and decorates a natural spruce in the sitting room. At Christmas they invite friends to stay. ‘We have spent two Christmases here - it snowed both times and it was magical,’ she adds. They love the countryside and cannot ever imagine going back to the city.
