Synopsis
Later divorced and with a young son, she bought a small 19th century, farm cottage in Dunmow, Essex and while renovating it, met her next door neighbour Simon Michie. Subsequently they married and bought the two adjoining cottages to create a generous family home. They did most of the plumbing, electrics and building works themselves. Monica runs an interiors shop in Great Dunmow and has decorated in a fresh, Swedish/New England style.
