Synopsis
Looking around for a substantial renovation project, Kathy and Peter McLaughlin couldn’t believe their luck when they discovered a tired cottage in the middle of the West Sussex countryside that was below their ceiling price.
‘My sister actually spotted it on the internet and said we should look,’ remembers Kathy. ‘Within a few minutes of staring at the view of hills, trees and the sheep, we said we’d buy it.’
The property comprised three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and a kitchen and study downstairs, with a handsome, vaulted sitting room, complete with an enormous brick fireplace.
