Synopsis
Together with her husband, businessman Charles Rickyards, they have rescued an iconic British pottery brand, Cornishware and brought it back from the brink. Whilst the instantly familiar blue and white striped pottery (it actually comes in 9/10 colours) is made in England’s ceramic heartland, Stoke on Trent , but it is hand finished and painted in Karina and Charles’s converted dairy in Somerset. They bought their Grade II listed farmhouse in 2011 and converted the neglected, previously tenanted farm, and transformed it into a welcoming family home. The Rickards have five children, twenty three sheep, a beehive, six egg-laying chickens, several guinea fowl a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a working Cocker Spaniel. Karina makes her own honey, grows flowers for her home, bakes like the British and cooks like the French.
