Synopsis
Pull up outside the Constantia home of Adrian Nakic and his wife, June Sawyer, and you’ll be forgiven for thinking that what lies behind its facade of solid white walls, small sash windows and an honest thatched roof must be a traditional warren-like homestead of dark little rooms. What you will find is a brilliant white space, artfully renovated by the couple, who moved in a couple of years ago. It is uncomplicated and laid-back; the tangible sense of restoration and balance in all its open spaces gives it layers, texture and meaning. ‘Light and beauty is very important to us,’ says Adrian. ‘It’s what we do, it’s what we live with.’
