Synopsis
Jono, as his friends call him, lives off one of Johannesburg’s main conduits. Behind the white walls of the smart Saxonwold complex, the dust and brawl of the city’s taxis and traffic is forgotten. The trim hedge-clipped rose gardens even give an air of settled suburbia. ‘It was the third house I looked at,’ says Jono. ‘I’d decided I wanted to buy a property and saw the first one at 2pm, then another one, then this one at 3pm. And the next day my offer was accepted.’
