Jennifer Mole

Jennifer Mole, an artist who paints animal portraits, and husband Jim Lucas promised themselves that the minute their eldest child reached school age the family would leave the bright lights of London and return to their roots in the Scottish Borders.

Synopsis
Whilst looking for a property to buy their ideas evolved and they decided instead to look for a plot of land on which to design and build the house of their dreams. The result is a modern house which has many features which make it extremely eco friendly and cheap to run. The house won the Grand Design Home of the Year award in 2011 and the once very urban family now live the country life growing their own vegetables and keeping bees.
