It was their passion for sailing that drew British born Vanessa and Richard Owen to New Zealand’s Te Puna Inlet near the Northland town of Kerikeri, thirteen years ago.

Synopsis
‘We used to sail past it and stop to picnic on the beach,’ Vanessa recalls. ‘When one day we discovered that a stretch of land down to the sea was for sale, we knew this was where we could create our dream coastal home.’ The pair had the somewhat left of field idea to truck an old building to the site, painstakingly restoring it and reconfiguring it to suit their lifestyle. The result is a laid-back home featuring upcycled finds and a palette of muted blues, greys and whites inspired by the surrounding coast.
