Brave New World

When Liza and Sebastian Hepple purchased this 1930s house just south of the river Thames it was run-down and dark, but they recognised the potential to turn it into a bright, sociable family home.

They came up with plans for a bold redesign that included an extension to the ground floor to connect the house to the garden, and a brand new basement level to provide a cinema room cum playroom for their two young sons, plus a guest bedroom and shower room. A busy pair with demanding jobs in the City, the couple asked Hannah Brown and Lucy Heathcoat Amory of interior design practice Amory Brown to help them devise the schemes. They have embraced Liza’s eclectic tastes and her love of colour and pattern to create a bright, uplifting home, perfect for a dynamic family.
