Synopsis
We have created a dream home, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our furniture and accessories were not purchased in any store but most of them were found and restored, bought in markets, fairs, or built and created by ourselves. We had to wait a long time for each thing, first to find it (often we could come across it unexpectedly), and then to renew it, give it a second life and find it a new place. We surround ourselves with old objects because their presence gives the impression that we live surrounded by stories they tell. Each individual object has a story and that's what makes all our of furniture and accessories special. Let's start the journey through our house with the kitchen, which is the centrepiece of the house. The kitchen is a place where I spend a lot of time, since my passion is cooking, baking, making tinctures and preserves for the winter. The kitchen island was made by my husband whose passion, in addition to history, is carpentry. Opposite the kitchen there is a renovated cupboard of grandma Gienia. Over the sideboard there are very old pictures, a table with several chairs. The kitchen bench is the perfect place to eat meals together with children who visit us or meet with friends. The open plan kitchen leads to a dining room. In the living room there is a large window overlooking the forest, a self-made bookcase and a renewed bench. There is also a special place for the wedding portrait of my parents Rozala and Leonardo. The fireplace, which heats up the house, is built from a dismantled tiled stove from Grandma Stasia. The fireplace adds warmth, cosiness and a homely atmosphere. The bathroom has its place behind the living room. The green tiles in the bathroom were brought from London, where we spent over 10 years. The bathroom cupboard was also brought from London. A simple staircase made of beech wood leads us to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms.
