Anne Hubert

There is something quite innocent, childlike even to Anne Hubert’s work and her home is a true reflection of her textile company La Cerise sur le Gateau.

Synopsis
Tucked away, up on the top floor, high above Paris, this small but perfectly formed apartment feels otherworldly, like nothing really could hurt you here. “I love the bedroom” says Anne, “it's like a little cocoon under the roof top - like a child's cabin where one can hide away from the world.” It feels like you have stepped straight into an Alice in Wonderland book.; there are cut out dining chairs, bell jars full of coloured pencils and Russian dollies, illuminated rabbits, and even the glass arched doors look like they belong in a nursery.”Nostalgia inspires me” Anne explains, ”I use childhood memories in my work and give them a twist.” But everything is not so sweet and coy, Alice in Wonderland may well appear on Anne’s cushions but she is smoking a cigarette, probably in Alice’s case, a joint which read “Smoke Me”!
