She found a small holding with a run down bungalow which she knew she could convert into her new centre, converting the stables into offices and the granary into a holiday let and tearing down the existing bungalow to build a new house. Working closely with the architect the aim was to get as much light into the house as possible - designing it so that it fitted in with traditional Sussex style houses but still modern looking. The aim was to see the horses when she woke up and having a feeling of freedom. The house was oak framed and uses second hand tiles on the to give instant patina and to fit in with the landscape. Using the same philosophy a wild swimming pond which would also blend into the natural landscape has been constructed to blend in as closely as possible with the natural environment.
