Synopsis
Terry McCormack and her husband Carl DeBrule wanted a house where they could entertain and host a sit-down dinner for 30 people and have their children visit often. They found their dream dwelling in a 1970s home off the beaten path surrounded by woods, yet close enough to be walking distance to the vibrant Saratoga downtown. With high ceilings, oversize windows, and plenty of storage, the house was a perfect fit, though they did update the interior to create a new kitchen space and open up the floor plan. When it came to decorating, the couple turned to their art collection as inspiration. They furnished the house without clutter for an easygoing yet sophisticated vibe. Today, the house bustles with frequent visitors who come to enjoy outdoor amenities. But it also has many quiet moments, with Terry and Carl spending time observing nature. "This house is quiet, soothing, and easy on the eye, but never boring. It's an incredible canvas that can be endlessly changed and moved around.' Terry says.
