Synopsis
When shopping around for a house, Laura, 36 and Leigh Batten, 41, wanted a home that would be a blank canvas that they could add personal touches to. They didn’t expect to buy an inhabitable wreck that needed six months of renovation work and the full time help of Laura’s Mum and Dad. ‘When I showed my best friend around our new home for the first time she actually cried,’ says Laura. ‘She couldn’t believe the state or smell of the house, and how much work that needed doing.’
