With a milestone birthday on the horizon, PR consultant Jayne Houghton decided it was time for a change and moved her family to a dated 1950s bungalow in East Sussex – but she had a plan.

Synopsis
Using clever designer and elbow grease she turned the cramped property into a contemporary family home with the open plan kitchen at its heart. By knocking through the original kitchen, living and dining rooms and installing French doors into the garden, she created a bright multi-functional space styled in the contemporary coastal look she loves using cool neutrals and organic materials from scaffold timbers and leather to wicker and hide rugs.
