Synopsis
When this 1930s house in Winchester was put up for sale it was completely run down and attracting little interest, but Victoria and Phil recognised its potential to be brought back to life as a family home. They undertook a sensitive approach to the renovation of the house, making essential building repairs and opening up the kitchen and bathrooms, but otherwise they retained the the original room layout - because it worked.
Today, the understated Arts and Crafts style of the house with its original parquet flooring and solid carpentry provides the busy family with restful surroundings and Victoria with a simple backdrop for furniture, art and objects collected over the years, each holding its own story.
