Synopsis
A simple clay block and some enthusiastic eco builders became the perfect combination to kick-start Vikki and Alex Bruce’s project after years of worrying about how to progress the build of their new home.
Back in 2004 the couple had acquired a collection of ruined farm buildings from Alex’s family, steeped in a 200-year history. The solid stone walls were the makings of an ideal family home and the Bruces were desperate to salvage as much as possible, but build the rest of the structure using local and natural materials.
