Synopsis
Grade II listed, built around 1752, it had been modernised by the previous owner and boasted wall to wall carpets, fitted wardrobes and an orange “knotty” pine kitchen. Sheila, who likes to see the “bones” of a building, stripped the new additions back to basics, even to the extent of asking the builder to leave the plaster walls rough, not smooth. Now the old cottage is back to its original self, revealing its former charm and Georgian heritage.
