Synopsis
The current owners Rob and Sam - a financier and doctor with four school age sons - bought the house from family friends and undertook a complete renovation, including the addition of a contemporary extension, clever reconfiguring of interior spaces and a garden redesign (by Sam’s landscape designer mother). Sam was closely involved in the design and interior decoration: of Danish descent, she has a love of Scandinavian Modern design but also the warmth and atmosphere created by introducing more traditional designs and colour. The couple’s stay at the Ett Hem hotel in Stockholm inspired the look and feel of the interiors. Modern British design and craftsmanship, such as the kitchen and boys’ bathroom by Jack Trench and furniture by Pinch and sit alongside Scandinavian mid-century designs, traditional upholstery in rich colours and the couple's bold artworks and rugs.
