Natasha Nuttall

What does a landscape designer do when her own home doesn’t have a garden? The answer, of course, is to summon nature indoors, and Natasha Nuttall’s north London flat is a lesson in how to do this in style.

Synopsis
The flat, which overlooks the Lido on Hampstead Heath, had been tenanted for half a century when Natasha and her husband bought it; after living in it for five years, they completely reconfigured the spaces to create a light-filled open plan kitchen and dining area which is now the place where the family (the couple have two children, aged 13 and 11) congregates. Vintage pieces define the interiors – including a cabinet reclaimed from the British Museum, which now forms a striking island unit – as do plants, which bring life and movement to the interiors. “I guess it always comes back to my love of nature,” says Natasha. “Flora and fauna will always be close to my heart.”
