Synopsis
The property is crafted from two single storey rectangular units, connected by a removable glass walk way. Clad in weathered chestnut with steel frame windows and doors, the homeowners utilised both natural and local materials so the dwelling would sit humbly within its environment. Inside the decor is far from the mobile home typology with polished plaster finishes, an expanse of floor-to-ceiling doors and bold splashes of colour. To bring the essence of the outdoors into the interior, David chose the colours of the wild Bluebells and vivid green Euphorbia growing on the site. The homeowners determination to defy building constraints and turn them in to opportunities, coupled with their use of sustainable and high-end materials, has resulted in a mobile home that exceeds all expectations.
