Synopsis
Milly and Richard Grafton have renovated every home they’ve lived so they knew
exactly what they needed to do when they moved into a tired old converted farm
building near Harrogate.
‘We lived in the house for four years before we started work on it,’ says Milly.
‘Richard was setting up a new business at the time so it gave us chance to settle
in and get to know the property before we started to make changes. We knew
from the outset what kind of things would need doing.’
The property had been converted by previous owners but the fixtures, fittings and décor were traditional and quite dark. Milly and Richard were keen to bring more light into the house and bring everything up to date without changing the basic layout of the rooms.
