Curiosity got the better of Melanie Kirk and her family, when they decided to view a characterful property, located in Aylesbury Old town. ‘ We had always admired the house and when it came on the market we couldn’t resist taking a look,’ recalls Melanie. The house had been empty for some time and was in a poor state of repair. ‘It was shabby, but not very chic, smiles Melanie, but we loved the character and we made an offer straight away.’ Situated closer to work and with good schools on the door step the location was perfect. The family moved into the house in 1996. Melanie lives with her two sons, Alex, 19 and Aidan, 17, and two British Blue, soft grey cats, Samson and Delilah. ‘We moved in when Aidan was born, in fact he was christened in St. Mary’s Church just behind the house, smiles Melanie.
