Synopsis
Katie admits that she didn't even know what a ranch-style house was until she moved to Houston, but was immediately drawn to the 1968 basic brick rancher for its simple, clean silhouette. It was extremely run-down, and to an untrained eye, not worth a look-in, but to Katie's innate creative instincts she knew it was a little treasure.
"At the time I would have killed for an old shotgun New Orleans home!" she laughs. "But I was attracted to the rancher for its bare simplicity. It was screaming for help and I knew with a little tender love and care it would be a winner."
