Synopsis
Built in the 1850s as part of the Cliftonville Estate and being nearest the sea front far more grand than other houses, number 8 Medina Terrace is famous for being the home of Katharine O'Shea whose affair with famous Irish politician Charles Stewart Parnell took place here whilst her husband was away at sea. Forward over 100 years and the house had been split into bed sits and lacked its former grandeur. Purchased in 2000 it has been subject to a painstaking restoration, saving the original balcony together with interior doors, coving, the banisters, floorboards and fireplaces. It is now back to its former glory as a six storey, eight bedroom seafront residence.
