Synopsis
After a financial crisis forced Karen and her husband Nigel to sell their family home they had to downsize fast. ‘We needed somewhere we could walk into town from, instead of having two cars, and that we could renovate on a budget,’ says Karen. ‘When we first saw this place I hated the flat roof, thinking it would be a money-pit, but once I saw the size of the rooms, with the sunlight flooding in at the back, we made an offer immediately because of the potential.’
