Synopsis
Incredibly the workshops came with planning permission to demolish and build a 4,500 sq foot dwelling - an opportunity she could not miss!
In May 2008 she began the demolition and over the next 18 months worked side by side with the many skilled labourers that helped her create her dream retreat in the heart of the Lake District National Park.
The journey she promises was not free of its extreme challenges which only makes the enjoyment of Le Chalet with her family and friends now even more
special. When she shows guests around the property she has quirky tales to tell of the design of every room - it makes her very proud to be able to say she had an input from the footings to the roof!
The exterior design is typical Lake District style with dry stone walling and timber cladding. The interior was designed by Jane and comprise 6 suites, and open plan lounge/diner with a feature log burner.
