Jackie and Mike

Determined to give their two young children a life in the country, Jackie and Mike Crisp, then living in south London, bought this Victorian detached property in Kent in 2004.

Synopsis
Built in 1873 and updated in the 1980s, the house was badly in need of redecoration. The interior boasted orange pine, shag pile carpet and green sponged walls, all of which added to the dated feeling. A building extension was re-integrated with the main house and a wall taken down to create an open-plan, kitchen/breakfast room. Finally Jackie decorated in a “modern country” style with lots of colourful textiles.
