Their home in Cape Town is an old Victorian, but Stanford near Hermanus is a small beautiful village with even older cottages. ‘Ours is one of them,’ says Su, ‘and we feel extremely privileged to own this little piece of Overberg history.’ It was about 10 years ago that they acquired it. Time had left its mark. They had to rewire the cottage completely, put on a new roof and replace the wooden flooring where cement had been put down.
