Synopsis
Even before they started building their Western Cape house two years ago, Kay and husband Rupert would sit under the wild olive trees on the koppie under the mountain and imagine what their home here would look like.
‘Building a house is like painting,’ says Kay. ‘You’re never sure if you’ll really like it. Along the way it has painful moments and when it’s finished you need to furnish it with memories before it really becomes somewhere called home, that you can love. This has been a journey.’
