Synopsis
When Jane and John Grinham moved into their detached house in Kent, Jane hated the Seventies style kitchen she had inherited and knew that it had to go. ‘It was dark brown wood with routed details on the doors. There was a fold down fan over the hob, onyx laminate worktops which were chipping off round the edges, complete with a little serving hatch into the dining room. It was really grotty,’ she recalls.

Jane already had a good idea of what she wanted and always fancied a red kitchen with sleek Italian units. After waiting for a couple of years whilst they refurbished the rest of the house Jane finally convinced John to let her have the kitchen of her dreams. Jane called on her friends Gill Mayes and Sally Craig who run Craig & Mayes, an interior design company in Tunbridge Wells.
