Synopsis
Cork is a versatile material that can have so many applications. This feature demonstrates an abundance of crafting ideas as well as three step-by-step crafting projects that use cork as an integral part of their design. In the first practical project cork board is cut into hexagons and painted with geometric shapes. These hexagons can then be used as stylish cork memo boards, a clock or heat proof coasters. In the second bottle corks are fixed onto painted wooden batons to be used as hooks for jewellery. The third uses bottle corks which are decorated with paint and stuck into a cake tin to make a circular cork notice board. Other craft ideas explored include book coverings, a head phone holder, needlework, plant labels, pin boards, coasters andhanging plant holders.
