Synopsis
When Charlie King and partner Andrew bought their ground floor flat in September last year,(2012), they knew they were going to change the whole layout around. “We came from a smaller flat nearby, and we wanted to stay in the area, but needed more space. This flat had wonderful high ceilings and large rooms, but it had an odd layout, which just didn’t suit us at all. There was only one small bathroom, but the enormous room at the front of the flat just wasn’t being used properly.” Having a large, luxurious bathroom was always high on Charlie’s list. “I’m a flight services manager for a major airline, so I am away a bit, and when I get back there’s nothing I like more than collapsing into a lovely hot bath. Plus I stay in hotels a lot, so I wanted that spacious feeling.” The kitchen was the only room in the house with a lower ceiling, so Charlie and Andrew decided to make that the main bathroom, and create a second shower room by taking space off one of the bedrooms.
