Synopsis
Businesswoman Celia Sawyer, one of the experts on Channel 4’s Four Rooms and host of BBC1’s ‘Your Home in Their Hands’, a property developer and interior designer did just that. Taking a faded seaside bungalow, albeit in one of the most expensive coastal regions in Europe, and seeing it’s potential, Celia set about re-
configuring the house to make the most of the amazing views and to make the house work for her and her family.
As you would expect from such a dynamic personality it is filled with unusual finds and striking artworks, but it is also calm and relaxing in shades of clotted cream and biscuit. An original 60’s bubble chair is perfectly placed to gaze out into the harbour. Statement pieces are everywhere, from stunning chandeliers to roman busts and other unusual pieces picked up on her travels. The house is very light, mainly due to the large bi-fold doors in the sitting room but also by the use of glass for both the dining table and coffee tables.
A stunning coastal home – individual – summer living at it’s most stylish.
