Synopsis
Cally Preen didn’t get as far as the front door before she fell for the charms of her period house in the Lincolnshire market town of Bourne – but her husband, Martin, was harder to persuade.
‘He said he would only come and have a look round if I sold the one we were living in,’ said Cally. ‘We had a Victorian house with two acres of land so it was quite a challenge.’
But to their amazement the house sold within just 24 hours of it going on the market and Martin not only kept his side of the bargain, but also fell head-over-heels in love with the character and history of the property Cally wanted to buy.
