Our house was half the size when we bought it ten years ago. We knew it had potential, but we didn’t have a large lump of money to invest in it. The house was always going to evolve slowly and within a limited budget.

Synopsis
I am from Copenhagen so there is a big Scandinavian influence in the house: lots of wood, light colours and quite an eclectic mix of furniture. Nothing you see is expensive but it works all together. Nick and I met on holiday on a yacht in the Mediterranean. He was crew and I was a passenger. We eventually moved to the UK and ended up in Yorkshire where Nick set up a non-slip flooring business. We discovered this house and really liked the location. Although it’s flat, we have open countryside all around us and it’s close to Selby where we both work. It was also affordable.
