Synopsis
Their “wow” factor was to create a wet room with a glass floor over the mill stream so, while showering, they could watch the water under their feet. However in 2007, heavy rain turned the stream into a torrent and the house was flooded. The entire downstairs and driveway were destroyed and the couple retreated upstairs together with a microwave, for a year, while overseeing the renovations. Looking on the bright side, the disaster meant that they could finally install the contemporary kitchen that they had dreamed of.
