Alison and Richard Moon

Alison and Richard Moon had almost given up on finding a suitable property when they had to move to Kent. They found this Gothic style, late Victorian, lodge house on the outskirts of a pretty Kentish village and fell in love with it.

Synopsis
‘It somehow reminded me of a French chateau in miniature,’ Alison remarked. The previous owners had done a sympathetic renovation but their choice of heavy curtains and theatrical colours needed refreshing and Alison used a lighter palette of French grey and shades of white to lift the interior. With an improved layout on the ground floor the former reception room became a dining room where Alison can show off her lovely Dutch antique dining table and chairs, which was sourced specially for her by her late Aunt Pol, who was an interior designer. All the windows were fitted with lovely wooden shutters made for them by a local carpenter and painted to compliment the colour scheme.
