Synopsis
Finding Juliette Fernandes and Neal Smith’s house just above Hay-on-Wye is a feat in itself: pass the red telephone box, follow a single-track road and just keep the faith as you climb higher and higher. It’s worth the effort though as you step out and take in the thrilling views of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains which stretch out in all directions. Juliette recalls their own first visit. “We came without much expectation from the details we’d been given. But as soon as we arrived, we knew it was a very special place with incredible potential.”
