Synopsis
|
The simple wooden lodge on two acres of coastal fenland in Suffolk is an architect designed prefabricated mobile home - enabling the London based owners to create a contemporary rural retreat in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where planning permission for a new build would be impossible.
The couple were inspired by Scandinavian summer houses and an uncomplicated way of living. The interior design uses a simple colour palette, natural materials, Scandi style furniture and art and objects inspired by nature. A short walk or bike ride through woods takes the family to Thorpeness with The Meare boating lake and the pebble beach stretching to neighbouring Aldeburgh. They have the best of both worlds.
