Synopsis
Designer Susan Bradley’s open-plan home flows with ease, and blends mid-century style with contemporary cool. In fact, it was the modernist architecture that won her and her partner Simon’s hearts, when they first glimpsed the detached 1930s property five years ago.

Wanting more space but restricted by London’s high prices, the couple were drawn to leafy Oxford – a city steeped in history due to its world famous university. ‘We were picky, but as soon as we saw the space and the garden, we knew it was right,’ says Susan.

The windows had been replaced sympathetically, but the period property was otherwise untouched structurally and beneath a façade of tired and dated eighties décor, its original beauty and features remained.
