In 1996, when the Ogilvies set out to find a property, they fell in love with the 116-acre Coffey Creek Farm in the Caledon region. It perfectly harnessed Robin's nostalgic memories of childhood visits to a grandparents' farm in the same area while the idyllic rural backdrop of rolling hills and original turn-of-the-century barns embodied the couple's enduring fondness of English and French country houses. After getting rid of a dull 1970s farmhouse, this was the ideal spot for the Ogilvies' dream home.
