Synopsis
Jane and Philip had originally applied for planning permission to build a German prefabricated house but were refused. Whilst driving through Dorset they spotted a development of new houses which they loved. They were designed by Matthew Witt of Western Design so they commissioned him to draw up some plans. One for a remodel of their existing house and another for an exciting new build. They chose the stunning new build which was designed with sustainable construction principles and it was cleared for planning straight away.

A contemporary, open plan family home built on the plot of their original post war property. The long curved shape of the south-east facing house makes the most of the sun all day. Finished in oak cladding and water reed thatch it combines modern technology with traditional craftsmanship.
