Synopsis
Set in the tropical surroundings of Palm Beach, a generously proportioned house such as this might have ordinarily been decorated in the ubiquitous Mediterranean style - although thanks to the ministrations of designer T. Keller Donovan the European influences are both more northerly and more elegant.
"There is nothing more striking than simplicity," he says, explaining that in taking an understated approach he could make a more luxurious and classy statement with the interior space than would have been possible with the usual South Florida penchant for terracotta tiled floors, stone columns, rough-textured stucco, wrought iron detailing and exposed beams.
