On the north side of the island of Santorini, just 11 km from Fira, is the picturesque village of Oia which is famous for its sunsets and cave settlements – houses dug into the rocks. Just outside the village is a house which catches the eye for the aesthetics of the interior and exterior spaces but mainly for the beautiful and harmonious atmosphere.
This is a 160sqm house of the architect, Nicholas Tsebelis, who has maintained his architectural office on the island for over 20 years. More specifically, the residence occupies 160sqm which "unfolds" over a single floor and houses the kitchen, the salon with dining room, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house has a loft which was converted first into an office and then into a living room. Like most Cycladic houses, there are no doors, rather the spaces are filled with beautiful Cycladic arches separating while at the same time joining the rooms and giving the owner the ability to arrange each room as he wants.
