Kerstin Olszowska lives in the Old Manor House in the village of Brasted, near Westerham, in Kent. A typical Kentish tile-hung house, it was formerly an antique clock shop.
Kerstin (pronounced Sherstin), is from Stockholm and has three grown up children. Moving from a neighbouring village, she took on the property as a new venture in her life, wanting to convert it to a comfortable family home.
She bought the property in March 2007 and hired two Polish workers to re-roof, re-wire and create two new bedrooms. She tackled much of the decorating herself and the style is a mixture of traditional English with lots of Scandinavian touches such as the magnificent glass chandelier that belonged to her great grandmother and now hangs over the solid ash dining table.
Kerstin said she wanted an individual look and used all her flair and imagination to achieve a warm and welcoming home without breaking the bank in the process.
