Synopsis
The north west of Scotland is well known for its rugged mountains, dramatic coastlines, stunning views and spectacular skies. So, when architect Roderick James was asked by a client to travel from his practice headquarters in Devon to a remote part of western Scotland to discuss building one of his signature oak-framed dwelling houses, it occurred to him that it would be hard to imagine a more exciting location for such a building. That was ten years ago and while he was there , learning that his client was selling his nearby estate, he bought himself a plot of land, right on the shore, for no particular reason other than he was so taken with the view across the water to the isle of Mull.
